Inter-library Loans

Need a book that the Goodall Library doesn’t have in stock? As a library-card holder, you have access to to books from libraries all over the state of Maine! Through our Catalog system (Minerva), you can request books online and be notified when you book arrives at Goodall. Alternatively stop into the library to have staff order a book for you!

How do I use Minerva to borrow & request items from other libraries?
  • Go to Goodall’s website and on the top of the page, click the Minerva or Owl icon. This will take you to Minerva’s website.
  • After going to Minerva’s site, you will click “My Library Account”.
  • To login, put your name and your full library card number (14 digits). You should be able to login now.
  • To request: start by going to “New Search”.
  • Then you may search up the item you are looking for. Put the name of the item, click the drop-down next to the search bar and change it to “Title”, then press “Submit”. If you are looking for a specific location, click the “All Minvera Locations” drop-down and select your desired location.
  • Browse the selection, and after seeing an item you would like with the “Available” status, you may click the “Request. (with the check mark) button.
  • If your account is valid and up-to-date, you will see a page that says “Your request has been successful”.
  • Once Goodall Library has your book, the library will contact you to inform you it’s ready to be picked up.
